Our automatic cell for pressed items production are aimed at totally
replacing manpower in pieces preparing, stamp cleaning, press
loading and finished products unloading. Down here we wish to
describe a smart solution for production of artistic articles in
silver/aluminum laminboard. In addition to usual targets of
productivity gains and according to goods’ nature, this plant is
designed to ensure meticulous cleaning of both plates and stamp,
soft product handling both before and after the stamping process,
and accurate positioning of pieces. Two rotary brushes with
extremely soft and flexible bristles remove impurities from both
sides of plates, without altering the natural surface polish, while
nozzles eliminate residual electrostatic charges with deionized air
flow. Centering unit let the robot to pick pieces with very high
precision and so the whole system can respect the rigid working
tolerances. During piece loading into the press, a special cleaning
device perform stamp brushing, deionized air blowing, and suction of
all removed impurities: this makes the stamped goods to have a
superficial polish without imperfections. The press and so the
stamping cycle are fully integrated with the system. A second robot
unload the stamped pieces and stack them very softly. A few minutes
and the plant is ready to start with a new code, even if the
operator have to teach a new format not present in archive: such a
flexibility makes profitable even small lot producing.
